Who we are

This privacy policy explains how THE BIOGO NATION LIMITED, trading as bioGo ("we", "us", "our"), of Gusted Hall Units, Gusted Hall Lane, Hawkwell, SS5 4JL, United Kingdom, collects and uses your personal information when you visit www.thebiogonation.co.uk or buy from us. Information we collect

  • Order and account information: your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number and order history. Card payments are handled by our payment providers; we do not see or store your full card details.
  • Communications: messages you send us, for example through our contact page or by email.
  • Marketing preferences: your email address if you sign up to our newsletter, and whether you have opted in or out.
  • Device and usage information: such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed and how you reached our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To process, deliver and support your order, handle returns and refunds, and communicate with you about it (performance of a contract).
  • To send you marketing emails where you have opted in; you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email (consent).
  • To run, secure and improve our website, prevent fraud and understand how our site is used (legitimate interests).
  • To keep records required for tax and accounting and to meet other legal obligations (legal obligation).

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business and who may use it only on our instructions, including: Shopify (our e-commerce platform), payment providers, Amazon (which fulfils and delivers our orders from UK stock) and delivery carriers, email and marketing service providers, and analytics and advertising partners (such as Google) where you have agreed to the relevant cookies. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.

International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the UK. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfil your order and for up to 6 years afterwards to meet tax and accounting requirements. We keep marketing data until you unsubscribe. Other information is kept only for as long as we need it for the purposes above.

Cookies

We use cookies that are needed for the site to work (for example, to remember your basket) and, with your consent, cookies for analytics and advertising. You can manage your choices through our cookie banner and your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
